RCMP search teams will be combing for clues along Hwy. 22 Friday after what's believed to be human remains were found near Redwood Meadows west of Calgary on Thursday.
Just after 12:30 p.m., bones were located south of the intersection of Hwy. 22 and Hwy. 8, prompting a search by Cochrane RCMP members aided by search dogs.
On Friday, an enhanced search of area along Hwy. 22 will take place by the RCMP's special tactical operations team, which is expected to affect traffic on the highway.
Police are asking members of the public avoid the area while the search is carried out.
The remains were transported to the office of the medical examiner for examination, and to determine if the bones are indeed human.
