A $1.25-million donation from the Students Association of Bow Valley College to their alma mater is believed to be the largest of its kind in Alberta.
The student group announced the donation to the college's Quest for Best campaign Thursday at a meeting of the board of governors, according to a release.
The college is now rapidly approaching its goal of raising $20 million for the Quest for Best campaign. The student donation pushes them past the 95% mark.
“This tremendous act of generosity and commitment by our students association is an investment in Bow Valley College’s quest to be the best comprehensive community college in terms of learner success,” said Bow Valley College President Laura Jo Gunter.
“We are very grateful for this gift, as it will support the College in its mission to create lifelong learning opportunities for students, providing the support they need to follow their dreams and achieve success.”
