Phone and Internet services were restored for a "significant number of Shaw customers across Western Canada" by 4 p.m. Thursday, the telecommunications company said.
Some Shaw customers across Canada experienced Internet, television, and home-phone service outages, said an online statement Thursday.
The outage, which started at 1:27 p.m., was a result of a software failure during a routine upgrade to the network, a news release stated.
"We are investigating the situation and working to restore service as quickly as possible," said the statement. "We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause."
Around 2 p.m. Tuesday, the company said some customers reported services were restored.
On Twitter, the company told affected customers to check for updates on the Shaw website.
